 William Steve Lathum and his wife Minnie Caldwell. Steve was the son of Frank Lathum and his wife America Ann Watts. America was the sister of Marley and Bell, thus Steve was their nephew.

Yes, that’s how it was spelled in the newspaper. I always take extra care to transcribe articles exactly how they appear — spelling, punctuation and all. I haven’t before encountered that spelling of Lathum, either.
Byron is that how the name of Latham is spelled in the paper you have – LATHUM? I have never seen it spelled that way. Interesting??
